Roadmap

What’s next, and what shipped.

Jobly is shaped by feedback from the people who use it. Here are the releases we are working on, the ideas we are weighing, and a dated list of every change.

Upcoming releases

NowJobly 1.0 is out: finding, tracking, profiles, resumes, cover letters, contacts and autofill with review. Everything below comes after it.

  1. v1.1Next

    Wider autofill

Fill more of each application without retyping.

    Autofill

    • Better handling of Workday’s multi-step forms and of custom questions.
    • Answers you type once remembered for the next form that asks the same question.

    Tracker

    • Automatic status when a hiring system emails you, if you connect your inbox (optional).
  2. v1.2Upcoming

    Optional AI help

For people who want it, with their own AI key, so Jobly stays free.

    Writing

    • Tailor a resume to a job, draft cover letters and answer application questions, using your own AI provider key.
    • Nothing is sent to an AI service unless you add a key and press the button.

Plans can change and nothing here has a date. Want something? Tell us; requests decide what comes next.

Later

Ideas we are weighing

  • More companies and hiring systemsAdding career pages people ask for, and the systems companies use to publish them.
  • Clearer job cardsShowing salary and location details more consistently across sources.
  • More role familiesSuch as data, DevOps and mobile engineering.
  • Other browsersListing Jobly in the Edge and Firefox add-on stores.
Not planned

What Jobly won’t do

  • AI that Jobly pays forEvery AI request costs money, and Jobly is free. AI help, when it comes, will use your own key.
  • Autofill that runs by itselfJobly’s autofill works only on the tab you click on, shows every answer first, and never presses Submit. An agent that applies for you is not planned.
  • AccountsYour data stays in your browser, so there is nothing to sign in to.
Changelog

Everything that shipped

  1. Jobly 1.0: from finding a job to the interview

    • Application tracker: statuses, notes, follow-up reminders, a weekly goal, and a “Did you apply?” prompt after you open a job.
    • Interviews with prep checklists, ratings and a reminder an hour before; tasks with due dates; import from Google Calendar.
    • Resume profiles and a copy kit; a resume builder with four templates (PDF and Word); cover letter templates.
    • Save any job from its page, check your fit against the posting, and autofill application forms after reviewing every answer.
    • Dealbreakers (salary floor, job types), a Job type filter, and alerts for every new job at companies you follow.
    • Recruiter contacts with your own Hunter key, and outreach drafts for email and LinkedIn.
    • Import from a spreadsheet, export to CSV, full backup, and optional sync across your Chrome browsers.
  2. Jobly is on the Chrome Web Store

    • Jobly 0.1.0 is published, so it installs in one click from the Chrome Web Store.
    • Every Add to Chrome button on this site now goes straight to the listing.
  3. Jobs at Y Combinator startups

    • A new page lists open roles at companies from Y Combinator’s public directory, each tagged with its batch. Jobly isn’t affiliated with Y Combinator.
    • Hundreds of YC startups were added, read from their own career pages with real posting dates.
  4. A faster home page

    • The home page loads only the screenshot for your theme, and phones get a smaller one.
    • This roadmap now lists the releases we are working on.
  5. Cleaner pages and fewer false listings

    • Every page has a clean web address and its own share image.
    • Jobs that Ashby marks as unlisted are no longer shown.
    • The legal pages say more about the form IP address, transfers and your rights.
  6. Many more jobs and employers

    • More than 400 employers read through their own career pages, plus remote job boards.
    • Five more hiring systems: SmartRecruiters, Workable, Recruitee, Teamtailor and Personio. Workday and Arbeitnow are read more deeply.
    • Cards from We Work Remotely, Himalayas and Arbeitnow say which board they came from.
    • The world map places far more jobs, using each job’s city or country.
    • Remotive was removed because its terms don’t fit how Jobly works.
  7. Employers outside the US

    • More than 60 employers outside the United States were added.
    • Jobly’s server restores its job list in seconds after a restart.
    • The privacy policy explains the in-memory request count.
  8. Honest headline numbers

    • Counts on the website cover tech-role jobs only, not every job Jobly stores.
  9. A new website, and fewer logs

    • New website with guides, how dates work, a live list of companies, privacy, security and support pages.
    • After uninstalling, Chrome opens a short optional feedback page. It carries no identifier.
    • Jobly’s server no longer keeps an access log, so your search words aren’t written to its logs.
    • A world map of where the jobs are, with live numbers.
    • A job’s role comes from its title, not from the job board’s own category.
  10. Your data stays on your device

    • Preferences, saved jobs and alerts now live only in your browser. The server keeps no record of who asked for what.
    • Alerts are worked out in your browser: only jobs that appeared since the last check.
    • Real posting dates from each source, a 60-day limit and a Date posted filter.
    • A full-page dashboard, a welcome tour and a helpful message for every empty or error state.
    • Faster under load: identical requests are answered from a two-minute cache.
    • New look: the Switzer typeface, new icons and an animated light and dark switch.
  11. Safer and sturdier

    • Server limits on request rates and input sizes, and a guard that keeps the crawler off private networks.
    • The extension handles slow or failed requests honestly and works with a keyboard and screen readers.
  12. Jobly’s first version

    • Jobly gets its name, a search that understands common job-title variations, and matching to your roles and experience.
    • The server starts reading company career pages on its own schedule.
